If you are not sure if your image is suitable, you can simply attach your digital file on an email to us at studio@imagey.co.uk with the subject header ‘Please test’, telling us what display option and size you are considering and we will reply with our opinion on what is possible.
How do I get my images to you?
You can either:
- Email your image and send in a completed order form (max size 5mb)
- Send us your image(s) on disk, CD or DVD (100mb max size)
- Send us a hardcopy of your photograph
What format should a digital image be sent as?
If you can upload or email your digital image, please use the JPEG file format. This can be up to 5Mb (when compressed). If it is larger than this, please send the image on a CD, or if it is saved in a different file format such as .tif, or .gif. Images can be up to 100Mb on a CD. An uncompressed TIFF is probably best. Disks should be sent in a bubblewrap envelope and include a hardcopy of the image if exact colour-matching is required.
Will you retouch my image?
We do not automatically retouch images. If there are small dust marks, you can ask us to remove these. If we consider the work to be major then we will quote you before undertaking any work on your image.
Do I have to send a digital photograph?
No, you can send a hard copy of your photograph in a hard backed envelope and we will scan it for you. Also, it doesn’t have to be a photograph - we can scan drawings and pictures up to A3 in size.
What settings do you recommend for scanning??
Please scan your images to a minimum of 150 dpi, larger if your scanner will allow that. Naturally, the better the scan, the better the final image when we print it. If we do not feel the file that you provide will result in an acceptable print we will let you know before we go ahead.
Will you scan my image if I send it to imagey?
Yes, if you do not have access to a scanner, we can scan your print or picture. We use professional flatbed high resolution scanners to ensure a high quality print.
Can I have my order delivered to a different address
Yes, there is an option to specify a different delivery address on the order form and during the ecommerce ordering process.
Will my print or canvas fade?
No, the print should last a lifetime – Imagey prints are lightfast and durable. But please note that ink manufacturers recommend that for optimum longevity, it is best to avoid placing your print in direct sunlight.
Will my image look blurred or pixilated?
No, assuming a good original image is submitted. Final print quality will vary according to the quality of the digital file or print received by Imagey. Customers are requested to follow the guide to digital image sizes/print sizes above.
Can I pick a non-standard size?
Yes you can – we provide customized sizes, and can go larger than sizes indicated, as long as the image is high enough quality. Please call or email us on info@imagey.co.uk for prices and more information on going large!
How will my order be shipped?
Your order will be carefully packaged in protective materials and boxed to avoid damage in transit. We then use reputable couriers to ship to mailing address specified on your order.
What digital file format should I send my image in?
If you are emailing your image, please save your image as a JPEG (.jpg) and ensure it is smaller than 5Mb compressed. You can of course send larger file sizes to us on a CD as JPEG or TIFF. If you are not sure, just call or email us.
Can I submit an image taken by someone else?
Yes, but it is your responsibility to ensure that you have cleared use of the image with the copyright owner. By submitting a signed order form to Imagey, customers have confirmed that they own the rights to their image and/or have received permission from the owner.
Does my image have to be a photograph?
No, it can be all sorts of things! It might be a kids drawing or painting, or even a sketch or artwork; it could be a cherished wedding invite or gig ticket. It could be a graphic design or computer generated fractals, a cartoon, almost anything. Imagey can scan your item or you can do it yourself - please read our FAQ on scanning.
